Buy Less, Wear More: The Wardrobe Multipliers That Do Both
We’re on a mission to help you get the most out of your wardrobe—because a great wardrobe isn’t always about buying more, it’s about buying the right pieces that give you more possibilities.
One of the best ways to maximize cost per wear is to style pieces multiple ways instead of defaulting to just one way. In this week’s Style Edit, Kim and Sylvie revisit the idea of wardrobe multipliers—those versatile pieces that can (and should) be worn in a variety of ways.
How to style your wardrobe multipliers:
Layer over and under: a vest or waistcoat can be worn over a tee or button-up, layered under a jacket, styled over a dress or worn on its own.
Rethink proportions: a cropped piece can oftentimes be misunderstood as being too short, but it's the perfect layering piece for layering over sleeveless tops, dresses, button-ups or pairing with high-waisted skirts and pants.
Get creative: try flipping a longer jacket upside down to create a cropped look - an easy way to expand your styling options.
Switch up the details: add a brooch or belt to completely change the look of a piece. Plus, look for pieces that have multiple snaps and buttons (like the Fishfash jacket!) to give you loads of styling ideas.
We hope this sparks a few new ideas using what you already own. And if you’re looking to refresh for Spring, we’d love to help you add one or two key wardrobe multipliers to your closet.
