Meet the Designer: The Story Behind Paper Temples
We have a special guest on this week’s Style Edit - Emily Parente, founder and designer behind Paper Temples.
It was such a treat to have Emily in-store this weekend and see so many of you connect with her and the collection. Before she headed out, we sat down with her to share more about the story behind the brand.
Emily launched her company in 2020, originally creating masks that were donated to non-profits. What began as a meaningful response during the pandemic has since evolved into exquisite hand-knit sweaters, sustainable apparel and an array of customizable prints.
Her approach is rooted in versatility and real life - designing pieces that can be worn multiple ways and work for women of all shapes and sizes.
Each piece is one-of-a-kind, taking three or more hours to complete from start to finish. It’s thoughtfully crafted by hand using vintage knitting machines, never mass-produced on an industrial scale.
Each season, Emily creates a collection of five to six prints, inspired by everything from vintage postcards to the insights of her customers and buyers. Every print is hand screen-applied, giving each piece a personal, unique feel.
We hope you enjoy this conversation and get a deeper look into Emily’s process and perspective. Her philosophy aligns so closely with ours - bringing you pieces that help you express your style, feel empowered and special.
We’ve added a few standout pieces from the trunk show to our website. Shop the entire collection from Paper Temples online and in-store.
