One of a Kind, Just Like You

Some of our favorite arrivals this season didn’t come off a production line. They came from an artist’s hands.
We’ve just welcomed new hand-dyed and hand-painted pieces from Cynthia Ashby, Heyne Bogut and Kaziuki, three makers who treat every garment as its own small work of art. Dye pools a little deeper here, a brushstroke sweeps a little wider there. The color, the pattern, the way it all lands on the fabric: none of it can be repeated exactly. Which means the piece you fall for on our rack is the only one quite like it, anywhere.
Why it’s worth it
Handwork brings a depth and richness that printed fabric simply can’t fake. You’ll see it up close: layers of color, soft variation, little moments of the maker’s hand. These are the pieces people stop you to ask about. And because they’re made with such care, they’re made to be worn and loved for years. Cynthia Ashby’s garment-dyed pieces, for example, develop their own character over time, the color softening and settling the way a favorite piece should.
Why we love small-batch makers
For 16 years, Evie Lou has been about finding clothes that feel different: pieces with a story, made by people who care deeply about their craft. Supporting small-batch designers keeps that artistry alive, and it means you’re wearing something truly special rather than something everyone else has.
We think the best wardrobes are built the same way the best pieces are: slowly, thoughtfully and with a little bit of soul. These arrivals are as special as the women who’ll wear them.
Come see them in person
Hand-dyed and hand-painted pieces are best seen up close, so we’d love to have you in the fitting rooms. Stop by Thursday–Saturday 11–7 or Sunday noon–4, or shop online at evie.com. We have only a few of each, and once they’re gone, they’re truly gone.
